SLS – Saturday Night

Today Jim set us the theme “days of the week“. I am going with one of my favourite days – Saturdays.

I have missed my Saturday nights this year. It used to be so exciting to get dress up, fix my hair and make-up and look forward to the buzz of meeting with friends, going for a drink, finding somewhere we liked the music. 2020 has taken the sexiness out of Saturdays and turned us into couch potatoes!

This song was an huge hit when we were in England years ago. I remember as a child dancing along with the other girls at the school I was attending at the time.

Larry Pignagnoli is credited with the writing of the school, but it is performed by Whigfield. This is “Saturday Night”.

Saturday night I feel the air is getting hot
Like you baby
I’ll make you mine, you know I’ll take you to the top
I’ll drive you crazy
Saturday night, dance, I like the way you move
Pretty baby
It’s party time and not one minute we can lose
Be my baby

Da, ba, da, dan, dee, dee, dee, da
Nee, na, na, na
Be my baby
Da, ba, da, dan, dee, dee, dee, da
Nee, na, na, na
Pretty baby

I dooooo indeed miss dressing up!
Sometimes I still do. Just for the hell of it. But stockings and garters and towering heels still do lose their sexy if there’s no one to come tear ’em off šŸ˜

I know right!
There is a whole part of my closet which I have just not touched this year – all my gorgeous dresses.
We used to have occasional dress-down days at work. Well 2020 has been a dress-down year!

I think she was a one-hit-wonder Jim.
I don’t know of any other songs she released. I think she was a model who got roped into singing this. I also think this song was released at a time the charts were a bit boring, because I remember it being a massive hit. I was at school back then.

I think that when we are at school, college and so on, till we start work that our musical likes and so forth changes. Therefore those we avidly followed at a younger age are put pack for more upcomings, so then we think that those artists we liked simply stopped, because they were not always in the forefront our minds.

We lose track of them because their styles change like our lives change šŸ™‚
