I found the cutest song! Jim has asked us to pick songs with a bouncy theme today. I thought this song was so sweet and just in case you are tutting and deciding it is to saccharin for you, I am going to confess that I relate so much to these teenage lyrics. This is still me even though I am now supposed to be a adult.
This is Sabrina Carpenter, singing “Can’t Blame A Girl For Trying”. I am absolutely not surprised to see a familiar name amongst the song writers: Meghan Elizabeth Trainor, Alan G Anderson, and Christopher John Gelbuda. I actually thought Meghan Trainor when I heard this song the first time.
Here I am again, the same old situation
Why does the guy thing have to be so complicated?
I should’ve played it cool, instead I made a fool
Oh, the things I do
‘Cause I’m young and I’m dumb
I do stupid things when it comes to love
And even if I always end up crying
Well, you can’t blame a girl for trying
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
No, you can’t blame a girl for trying
Oh-oh-oh-oh
I should’ve shut my mouth, I could’ve kept it quiet
I might have freaked him out ’cause I was so excited
But I just couldn’t wait, I took a leap of faith
Oh, the things I say
‘Cause I’m young and I’m dumb
I do stupid things when it comes to love
And even if I always end up crying
Well, you can’t blame a girl for trying
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
No, you can’t blame a girl for trying
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
No
And I think sometimes I tend to be my own worst enemy
And maybe someday I’m gonna catch a shooting star falling out of the blue
Doin’ what I do
And just as I’m giving up, my heart is palpitating
Here comes another one and it’s so intoxicating
And being where I’ve been I know that in the end
I’ll do it all again
‘Cause I’m young and I’m dumb
I do stupid things when it comes to love
And even if I always end up crying
Well, love will find me, there ain’t no denying
But, you can’t blame a girl for trying
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
No, you can’t blame a girl for trying
Mmmmmm
Oh

Sabrina Carpenter looks much too young to be able to sing this well. I guess she was only 14 when she recorded this and now she is 21, nice music Jenna.

She looks very young! I thought the same Jim. I like the song and I hear so much Meghan Trainor in it. But Sabrina’s vocals are great.
