SLS – Sex

So Jim has asked bloggers to feature songs about sex for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday…and I suddenly realized “hey!!! I have a whole series on my site on this theme!” That seemed worth telling you about! In fact, I thought it was worthy of a special edition podcast! If you would like to listen to the podcast….you can do so right here, or in the Spotify App! I might be mistaken, but I believe you can hear our dishwasher gurgling at some points….it’s either that, or Ben’s tummy. Nope, Ben just shook his head, it was not his tummy.

Well, I saw Jacob included his Spotify list last week, so I thought it was the time to plug some of my own Spotify playlists. I made one for my Song Lyric Sunday posts:

….and I also made one for my regular feature SINGING SEX. For the past year, I have published a musical track every week about sex. This is the playlist for the weekly series I have published each Thursday:

It has been great fun, but soon it is coming to an end, because I have some medical treatment ahead of me, and we also have to move out of our home by the end of November. Whether or not we will make it back to Chicago before Thanksgiving is still up in the air, but we still have to move our of our home. It’s all a little overwhelming at the moment. What a time to start a podcast series!!! Well…this week, I have published a special edition podcast – with no live reading, just chat and a musical link – in honour of Jim’s special theme.

Music is a great distraction. I was pleased with Jim’s theme, because it gave me the chance to feature one of the songs that I was afraid I was going to have to miss out of the SINGING SEX series.

My pick for today is called “Bootie Call” and is from the girl group All Saints. The song was written by Shaznay Lewis and Karl Gordon.

Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now

Never stop giving good love
Cos that’s why I call you for
(yo, whats up, baby?)
Never stop, baby, give it up
Cos I know where it came from – you got more

I like playing games
And if it’s all the same,
You could bring it on with the rough stuff
And give me your love – I don’t wanna be tamed

I need a man to be a real man
In order what I got in store,
Always finish what you start baby
And always having me beg for more,

You know I wanna be diggy down, boy
but I don’t get around,
Jimmy has to ride in your pocket or lock him in your wallet,
It’s just a bootie call

Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now (its a bootie call)
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now (its just a bootie call)
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now (its a bootie call)
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now (its just a bootie call)

Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now

I’m keen on what you is baby
Names are always good to have
You never let me down
I’m always happy when you make me laugh
But don’t try to find

This heart of mine
Emotions, they’ll come into my head, so don’t be misled
My heart doesn’t need to be bled
Aren’t we trying to be smart baby?

Don’t need the rollercoaster ride
I’ve been it, seen it and done it all yeah, yeah
Don’t want you messing with my mind

So don’t be a fool
Keep this as your number one rule

Good loving is not always from the heart
You gotta be smart
Ha ha
Stay just the way you are

It’s just a bootie call (It’s a bootie call)
It’s just a bootie call (It’s a bootie call)
It’s just a bootie call

Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now (its a bootie call)
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now (its just a bootie call)
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now (its a bootie call)
Bring it on, bring it, bring it on now
It’s just a bootie call

It’s a bootie call, it’s a bootie call
It’s a bootie, it’s a bootie call
It’s a bootie call, it’s a bootie call
It’s a bootie, it’s a bootie call

Please hang up and try you call again
Please hang up now
This is a re-recording

Jenna, I love your voice and the monologue where you explained about Song Lyric Sunday, about why you are blogging and gave tips on blogging in general was very interesting, You have exquisite taste in music and Bootie Call was a wonderful match for the theme this week.
